My favourite hair products atm!

Heyy guys sorry haven't posted in a while, gone back to school this week and even though I had 2 days off due to the snow (woo!) I haven't got round to doing any posts! Sorry!


This post is about my fave hair products atm, starting with John Freida Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme (phew that's a mouthful lol!). I apply this onto my towel-dried hair and then blow dry and straighten, and it goes straight really easily (super straight after blow drying, I just like to straighten it too so it's poker straight haha!) and it feels so silky and smells soo good, kinda apple-y, and shines really nicely, and no frizz!
I do have pretty straight hair naturally, but when I want to straighten my hair this product is great. It keeps your hair straightener-straight for agees, mine lasted 2 days
then I washed it lol. Available in Boots for £4.99



The next product I laave atm is the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Colour Deep Treatment. I've been using it after shampooing in place of my conditioner and it has such amazing results! First of all it smells delicious and peachy, and it makes your hair reallyyy soft and silky and, well, conditioned! It claims to 'replenish and revitalise your colour' but I didn't really notice much change in my hair colour vibrancy, although looking at some of the reviews it appears it works better once left on for longer than 3 minutes - leaving it on for 10 or 20 minutes are recommended. I'll try this out sometime haha. It is a fantastic product though, the conditioning can't be beaten for such an amazing price, that's for sure! I got this for £4.88 at Boots.


Next up is L'oréal Elnett Satin Very Volume Supreme Hold Hairspray. I have the 400ml one and it is HUGE, will last for ages aha. I've only used this a few times since I got it, and I have to say i'm liking it a lot! It holds volume really well, which is useful because my hair sometimes is soo flat and I often use volumising products on it and want them to last! Also it isn't really heavy and doesn't make your hair feel all greasy and weighed down, it's quite light and soft. It brushes out really easily too, and holds your hair in place naturally - it doesn't look stiff or like it's got any product in it at all! It comes in various sizes, so check out the smaller ones if you feel like testing it out, and is available at Boots (where else haha? I love Boots!).

Next let me introduce another of my favourite hair products - the Vo5 Heat Defence Taming Spray! Protecting your hair against heat is very important to prevent damage, and I find myself reaching for this product the most when it comes to straightening or blow drying my hair. It is a fine mist which doesn't dampen your hair, meaning no horrible *hissss* or burning smell once you put your straightening iron to your hair, and it keeps your hair feeling very light and like you've not got any hair products on. There's nothing worse than your hair feeling bogged-down by tonnes of product so I love anything that's light, especially as I do like to use a fair few products on my hair haha. This product also makes your hair look sleek and shiny, and reduces frizz.


Next up is one of my ultimate favourite products...which I think has been discontinued :(
The reason i'm posting it is because it is amazinggg, and if any of you guys know where to get this product then please let me know lol!! I'm running out and it's making me depressed :(
Anyway the product is called Citré Shine Shine Miracle Polishing Serum. It smells SO gorgeous and citrus-y and I apply a bit to my towel-dry hair after coming out the shower and it makes it smooth, sleek, glossy, shiny, totally frizz-free and makes my hair look and feel (and smell!) so healthy and good <3


The last product i'm going to mention is the Vo5 Extreme Style Surf Style Spray 150ml. I went surfing in Devon and Cornwall this summer and loved the natural beach-waves and texture of my hair after surfing all day, it looked so cute down or up in a messy bun and plaited back fringe/bangs. I saw this product in Boots and decided to try it out! I'm so glad I did, because the texture it gives your hair is PERFECT beach-blown, wind-swept style, thanks to the sea salt in the product it feels like the real thing to me aha, perfect way to remind me of the summertime all year round :)
This product works really well on curled hair to make it really messy waves, or natural hair for lots of volume and a bit wavy (well on naturally straight hair that is, on wavy hair it'd look gorgeous!). This was £3.22

What eyeshadow colours suit your eye colour?

First of all, happy new year to all of you! Hope 2010 will be a good year for everyone :)

Now onto the main topic of this blog post...
What eyeshadow colours suit different eye colours?

I have med/dark brown eyes and although they suit my warm toned face I always thought they were so boring - I always wanted green eyes to go with my dyed auburn hair...i'll show you some pics I edited of me with 'green eyes' at the end of this post haha.

Anyway I decided to do some research on which eyeshadow colours really made my eye colour pop and made it more interesting, and then I thought it would be interesting for a lot of people sooo I decided to make a blog post on what I found out :)

Brown eyes
One colour I love to wear with my brown eyes is purple!
It's said to go well with dark or olive skin tones, so perfect with my olive skin, and it complements my hair colour as well.

Gold and green are recommended for lighter brown eyes as they are said to pick up the coloured flecks in your eyes. This would work well with hazel coloured eyes too :)

For dark brown eyes, a royal blue is said to look good -but not too dark otherwise your eye area will look quite dim and dull. Try experimenting with different shades of blue - here's a really cute pic I found from google:





Blue eyes
For those with blue eyes (lucky people!) a whole variety of shades are recommended.
Most blue eyes are cool toned, so colours like grey, silver and taupe will look good with virtually any blue eye.

Purple and violet are also recommended for blue eyes. Vibrant purple can contrast beautifully with blue, but be warned it may make your face look washed out so stick to lighter shades if this is the case.

One little trick I stumbled upon during my research was that apparently if you use a deep shade of blue darker than your eye colour it brings out the blue tones in your eyes, making them look more vibrant!

Green eyes
Those blessed with green eyes (lucky people!) might have warm eyes (green and a bit of brown) or cool eyes (greeny bluey eyes), so different eyeshadow shades will suit slightly different shades of green eyes.

For those with warm green eyes, earthy colours such as brown, green, gold, bronze and copper will complement their colour well.

For those with cool green eyes, shades similar to those suiting blue eyes will look good - anything in the red/purple family is also recommended; mauve, rusty colours, plum etc.

The same trick for blue eyes can be used for green, by using a slightly darker green shade of eyeshadow to make your eyes look more green and vibrant.

ELF haul!

Today i'm going to be posting all the Eyes Lips Face (ELF) stuff I got for Christmas - if you're not familiar with the company, then here's a quick summary:

ELF is a new makeup brand, launched in New York in 2004, and it is known for having good quality makeup for a super cheap price!! It was originally only available in the US but in late November 2007 it became available in the UK via the website, www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. YAY!

Most of the items are priced at £1.50 - £3.50 (the studio range is mostly priced at £3.50), and if you look at the reviews on the front page you'll see that postage is usually super quick, with many people getting it the next day after ordering!!

The first thing I got was the Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15, in Goddess, which is a gorgeous peachy bronzey colour with a bit of pink in there too aha but you can't see it in the pic. It's a little sheer on the lips but over a lip colour it'll look great. It's quite sticky, but that means it'll probably stay for longer so it's not such a bad thing. Also the SPF 15 is definitely an added bonus. This was £1.50

The next thing I got was the Lip Definer & Shaper from the Studio range. This was £3.50, and the description was 'Enhance your lips by creating a fuller more defined lip easily! One side highlights lips to create a beautiful youthful glow, while the other side defines lips for a perfect pouty look.' One side was 'natural' to fill in your lips and the other was a nude skin colour to 'shape' your lips. This was veryy shimmery haha, I like the nude colour as a highlighter, it's very pretty and could be used in the corner of your eyes to open them up a bit more too. Overall it created a nice effect, but i'd say it would only suit frosty lip colours.

(Excuse me wearing my dressing gown lol!)

Next is the Mineral Lipstick I got from ELF. I got the colour Natural Nymph, which is a pretty light nude shade. On it's own, this didn't show up very well on my lips because my lips are a bit dark. It'd probably suit people with lighter skin tones, I know mine looks really light in photos but it's medium beige. I applied foundation to my lips with a sponge to blot out the natural colour and provide a similar coloured base and then put it on and it showed up much better. It does look a little bit like concealer lips haha but in real life it does look a little bit more pink (:



This is the nail polish I got from elf. It's in the colour 'Champagne' and tbh it was what I was most disappointed in - it is NOT like the swatch on the website at all! On the left is the nail polish, and on the right is the picture shown for it on the website. It's actually like a dark pink, not a bronzey beige colour at all, and I really don't like it lol ;/ It was only £1.50 though so at least it wasn't a big loss. Looking at a few other pics/swatches of the nail polishes on beauty blogs, it looks as if the nail polish colour previews on the website aren't very accurate for a lot of them, so be warned if you ever decide to order one haha.



Next I got a Mineral Blush in shade Coral, which was £3.50. Haven't used this yet but it's a pretty colour, and mineral makeup is usually very good (: I have swatched this colour with the other blushes & bronzer so keep reading to find that lol.



This is the Blush And Bronzer Compact from the Studio range. It has some pretty good reviews so I decided to get it (: This is very pretty, the blush is quite shimmery and not as pigmented as some of the other stuff I got but it can be built up and it's probably a bit easier to work with than super pigmented stuff, when you can easily put too much on and ruin your look! The bronzer is nice as well, it's really good for contouring because it's quite subtle and can be built up. This would suit most skin tones, maybe not super light ones but with a steady hand you can apply the right amount of colour. Again swatches are below.



This is the Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow, which was £1.50 and I LOVE THIS! Probably my fave item that I got, and i'm definitely going to buy some of the other colours. It's super pigmented and it really is such a gorgeous colour! Swatch belowww ;D




Tadaa! Here are the swatches I did :) Sorry for the rubbish quality I REALLY need a new camera, this one is an impressively bad 5.1MP one that refuses to do anything mildly close-up grr ;@
Anyway first two are the blush & bronzer from the Blush And Bronzer Compact, the third one is the Mineral Blush in Coral (because it's mineral it's very light so didn't show up too well) and the last one is Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow. I only did one swipe of Glow and like, 3 of the other ones so hopefully this shows you how pigmented it is, I love it!

This is 'Complexion Perfection' from the Studio range, and the description on the website is:
'Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out the skin tone and absorbs excess oil. The sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin.'
'Blend the powder over the entire face to brighten and even out the skin tone as well as neutralize any redness'

This product has received pretty mixed reviews - some people say it doesn't do anything at all and it's just wishful thinking, but others claim they do see some difference in their skin tone. The yellow is to brighten the skin, e.g. under eye circles, the green is to neutralise redness, the blue is to neutralise any orange, and I have no idea what the pink is for haha, any ideas?

I tried out the first three colours nevertheless, and i'm not sure about the green and blue atm, I don't really have a lot of redness or orangeness (lol) so it's difficult for me to see a major difference, but I have to say I did see an improvement in my under eye circles with the yellow, when I had like 6 hours sleep the other day. It really did balance out some of the purple/blue tones under my eyes and because it has a bit of shimmer the light reflecting particles helped to make the skin look brighter too.

I probably wouldn't repurchase this just for the yellow section, but I will probably use this sometimes so it's not a complete waste.


The last thing I got was a blush brush from the Studio range. I'd heard the elf brushes were reallyyy good and I was not disappointed! It's very soft and feels really professional, and the angled shape makes it easier to apply bronzer when contouring.



:O But that's not all!
Lastly I want to show you the awesome FREE GIFT I got because I ordered over £25 of stuff! (I think the total of everything you've seen above was like £26-£27, which is pretty good for all of that!

On the left is eyeshadows, on the right is lip colours, in the middle (from L to R) is a blush and bronzer, a mini black eyeliner, an eyebrow powder, a double ended eyeshadow brush and a mini blush brush.
It's soo cute i've only tried out a few of the eyeshadows but I love them already :)

Clip in hair extensions♥

Hii everyone :)

For Christmas I got some gorgeous clip in extensions, which I lovee and just wanted to share with you guys ;)

They're 20" but tbh I think they're actually more like 18" - but that's ok because I think 20" would have been too long haha.
It's a full head set, with one 8" wide piece with 3 clips for the upper back of the head, two 6" wide pieces with 3 clips for the lower back of the head, two 4" wide pieces with 2 clips for the sides of the head, and two 2" wide pieces with 1 clip for the front.

I got them off ebay and they were £33 - some people might not be very trusting of buying hair extensions online but I took the chance and it definately paid off!

The colour I got is light auburn. I thought that they would be pretty different to my hair colour and i'd probably have to dye them...but it turns out they were almost a perfect match! They're probably a teeny bit darker than my hair colour but it looks alright (:

They're human hair so can be dyed, straightened, curled etc.

NB: They do look kinda fake in these pics, thanks to my flash haha. But in real life, and photos without flash they look totally real, trust me.

I'm Chelsea and, well, welcome to my blog!
I loove all things beauty related - cosmetics, hair, fashion etc - and I read loads of beauty blogs already so I thought why not make my own?
I also watch loooads of beauty tutorials on youtube and all of this has inspired me to do something myself :)

I may be only 15, but i'm such a beauty junkie haha, it's crazy.

Anyway here's a few facts and things about me :)

Date Of Birth: 24-February-1994
Location: England, about 45 minutes North of London

Family: Mom, Dad, Twin sister (Hazel) and 13 year old brother (Gerald).
Me and my sister are identical, buut we actually look different because we have different noses and we dyed our hair different colours - mine is auburn and hers is black. In photos we look more different as well haha :)

Appearance: Straight auburn hair, quite long but quite thin :P
I also got some gorgeous clip in extensions for xmas, which I will show y'all later haha :)
I have medium beige skin - I am 1/4 Malaysian (My Moms Dad is Malaysian)
I have med/dark brown eyes (which I don't really like ;/)
One thing I don't like most about my face is my nose.
It looks alright in these photos lol, but in most photos it looks awful.
